Chris is Head Teacher of our Puffins class and has worked at Coastal Kids since 2006. All three of her children attended Coastal Kids, and two of them were taught by Ms. Priscilla! Chris has a B.A. in psychology from University of Maine, Farmington, and was licensed in social work in Maine and Massachusetts before arriving at Coastal Kids. She is an MRTQ level 6 teacher and pursues continuing education through MRTQ: especially classes and workshops that are focused on inclusion and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Chris and her family foster and rehab dogs from Georgia and North Carolina, rescuing them from overpopulated shelters and caring for them until they get adopted. At Coastal Kids, Chris is inspired by her students’ questions and willingness to make predictions about almost anything, and their acceptance and kindness toward all children and people regardless of ability or appearance. She is most encouraged when her students say, “Look! I made a triangle with my pretzels!” and all the other fun comments that indicate their interest, engagement, and love of learning.
