With skill, enthusiasm, and love
Coastal Kids is fortunate and grateful to enjoy a high retention rate among our loyal staff. The skill, enthusiasm, and love they bring to our classrooms on a daily basis form a strong and nurturing foundation for the positive learning experience shared by all students.
We encourage you to get to know the multiple adults who work in your children’s classrooms!
Each classroom has a Head Teacher, at least one Assistant Teacher, and 1:1 aides to support students with special needs. Speech, occupational, and physical therapists regularly join our classes to work with individual students and small groups. The school maintains a teacher-to-student ratio of more than 1:7 in each classroom, with individual attention readily available for all of our students.
All teaching staff participate in the Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ) professional registry, the State of Maine’s voluntary childcare and early education recognition system. MRTQ credentials are an important indicator of teachers’ experience, commitment to continuing education, and ongoing improvement of their craft.
Coastal Kids’ staff assesses and determines its training needs annually, and results become part of Coastal Kids’ continuous improvement plan.
